{Just Lovely} Trend Bible : Stationery Trends

I am pretty obsessed with Trend Bible right now.

Having experienced their trend predictions at Top Drawer {the stationery stand was next to mine} I was really hooked by their presentation and reasoning {I will forgive the fact that there are ALOT of low resolution imagery on their website}.

So what is and who are Trend Bible?

"We don’t consider ourselves futurologists or trendhunters or gurus. We just know how to pinpoint future trends and how to translate this into commercial success for our clients in a usable, no-nonsense way. Some of what we do is a science- it’s researchable and quantifiable; some of it relies on our 13 years of experience, and the rest is plain instinct. It’s this combination that keeps our clients ahead of the competition where they continue to demonstrate growth in a challenging climate."

So in January 2012  Trend Bible partnering with Clarion Events {for a third time} to create bespoke trend concepts and physical trend features for Top Drawer, the UK’s leading event for design-led gifts, lifestyle and fashion accessories held at Earls Court Exhibition Centre.

After months of concept development, build design, prop sourcing and making,  trend features were brought to life..

We created 4 phyiscal trend features for Top Drawer, focusing on sectors from the show which are seeing the most growth – Stationery, Children’s, Wellbeing and Fashion Accessories. In addition to the features, we designed and produced Product Cards to accompany the 4 features, helping buyers to Shop The Retail Trend at the show.

We presented six trends for Stationery and Greetings at Top Drawer:

{Luxe} emphasises a new, luxurious element in Stationery and desk accessories with a focus on bronze, pewter and gold metallics.

{Synth} is all about confidence with colour; moving away from traditional colour groupings like ‘pastels’ or ‘neons’ and blending these together for a new bold look.

{Monotype} celebrates typography and a minimal, monchrome  graphic aesthetic.

{Papercraft} reflects consumers desires for products with authenticity, referencing hand-made, natural finishes.

{Infrared} focuses on layering shades of red from crimson to berry for a strong, contemporary look.

{Patriot} heralds 2012 as the year to celebrate the UK, referencing British icons from architecture through to royalty.

These were my favourites {with Patriot being my absolute favourite}...

What are yours?

Have a lovely week, AML xx

{Just Lovely} Crumpet and Skirt

Oooh la la ladies and gents!

It is the day of love and whether this makes you cringe on an Olympic scale or glow with glee {that word actually makes me feel ill} then I have a little bit of design heaven that will get you all hot under the collar..

Introducing Crumpet and Skirt {I actually adore that name}..

So what of this fabulously named bit of design heaven..

"Crumpet & Skirt is a gift and homeware range for the discerning pin-up devotee.

Designed by London-based Elizabeth Pinnock, the products showcase original 50'simages of saucy ladies, tastefully attired in vintage undies and assuming a range of coquettish poses.

With ambitions to become a cross between Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn Elizabeth started her career as an actress. After training at The Central School of Speech and Drama she went into the real world where Hollywood forgot to call. Whilst waiting for James Cameron to find her number Elizabeth spent many hours indulging her love of all things vintage and finding other outlets for creativity. Crumpet &Skirt came out of this creativity and the personal desire to produce high quality products like in the old days.

Elizabeth is inspired by the glamour of pin-up girls, and decided to use them in simple designs that showcase the images in the best possible way. Both civilised and saucy, there’s no need to hide them when Granny comes for Tea…"

Sound fabulous, non?

Lets take a look...

Such a lovely wide range of crumpet covered eye candy...greetings cards, coasters, wrap, cups, tea towels and cushions {my personal favourite} I love, love, love, everything.

Check out the stockist list {perfect for a very last minute valentine pressie} or buy online.

Being saucy has never been so sassy.

Have a great day all you lovers.

{Paper Honey} Wonderful-Leigh {wonderfully}

OK lame blog title, but you won't be cussing me when I introduce you to Leigh Bagley.

Leigh describes his work as..

"vibrant, pattern led brand, producing high end Greeting Cards and Limited Edition Prints.

Our design aesthetic evidences modern, clean, graphic art with a contemporary approach to colour. Our customers enjoy being able to purchase designer, non-seasonal cards for diverse occasions.

We are based in Edinburgh and stock our cards and prints in small boutique shops, galleries, contemporary design shops and independant gift shops throughout the UK.  Customer who buy our cards and prints enjoy purchasing great quality products not available on the high street"

I describe it as graphic eye candy with sharp angular edges, making it the perfect choice for those oh so hard to buy for designers that we all know and love {my boyfriend for one would take one in each and every colour if he didn't have to spend all of his money on me}... {Joke}

But in all seriousness, the colour palette, the lines {and in the flesh they are totally stunning} the sense of drama that you get when you view the designs, lend themselves perfectly to the male interiors and gift market, that oh so tricky present now becomes less so..

Enjoy.

{Just Lovely} Fashion Illustration Gallery

If you love fashion and heart illustration then boy-oh-boy do I have a treat for you.. the Fashion Illustration Gallery {and think I have found a new way to blow pretty green.}

So what's it all about?

"The Fashion Illustration Gallery was founded in 2007 in order to promote and sell original art works and prints made by artists who have worked as fashion illustrators. In 2011 the online FIG Shop was created in order to ease the process of purchasing FIG Prints from the gallery and to introduce to the FIG audience rare magazines and books that feature fashion illustration."

You can view and buy {originals and collectables) from some serious names including one of my personal favourites David Downton, the brilliant Francois Berthoudthe wonderful Cecil Beaton and iconic Andy Warhol.

This site is an absolute must for any art, design and fashion lover.

Enjoy.

{Fashion Friday} Very Victoria

The handbag collection.

The shoe collection.

the husband.

The dream homes.

The pout.

The perfect family.

(See how my mind works?!) Ms VB has it all and some, and if all is to be believed our favourite Spice Girl can also turn a perfectly manicured hand to designing a line in killer dresses, denim and accessories, not for me but I totally understand how she is making a global success of this fashion malarkey.

But now dear friend, she has caught my interest in launching "Victoria" a whimsical nod to a younger market {like the fashion lovechild of See by Chloe and Henry Holland} with prints that include "Victoria Cat" and moons, finished in a mix of soft pastels and brights in styles that include drop waists and tunics, this collection has it all.

And I love it. the designs {designed or chosen by vb?} work so well printed and are really very now.

But would I pay the price tag? ask me off line and I will tell no lies.

I also abso love the VB website, clean lines, monochrome and I adore the Inspiration section, make sure you take a look.

Shop the collection online at Net-A-Porter

Have a lovely weekend.
