So all is well. In fact scratch that, all is brilliant because it's Friday.

Enjoy friends, go wild - the weekend is yours to do what you will xo

When life hands you lemons…

Go to Ladurée.

Last week was all kinds of mentals, mentals in a super good way though so that's O.K but I just had to take an hour away from it all at Ladurée at Harrods and had, not for the first time, the-most-amazing-lemon-tart-ever.

Here's to more of the same.

The detail…

Those gorgeous folk over at Rock My Style came for tea and cake - iv had a couple of emails asking for specifics so here are some of the finer details room by room... xo

H A L L
Makes enough of a statement with the exposed wood and original floor details, so we wanted to keep it totally free of furniture and styled elements with the exception of a standard lamp.

Detail:
Original black door and stained glass windows that give incredible light.
Minton tiles in the hallway
Features lots of original exposed wood
Vintage standard lamp

With a feature fireplace, bay window and tall shelves, the lounge is my favourite room. The light in this room in the evening is beautiful and so relaxing. I have chosen white, shades of grey and black as the main colours with a small hint of metallics in the cushions.

Detail:
DFS {yes really! believe me, they have *some* gorgeous sofa’s you have to look past the dated website and styling} and Made.com
Diptyque candles [I use the empty glass holders as vases and tidies}
Mercury candles, silver candles, glass candles and bud vases from Cox and cox
Glassware Gisella Graham and vintage
Case as tv mount was a vintage find
I am a total cushion obsessive and have mixed and matched lots of textures... The cushions are from Jonathan Adler, Heals, Laura Ashley and John Lewis, Conran Shop {dark grey weave from current season} and Mabel and Bird {geometric prints from current season}
Small side lamp base from Laura Ashley and shade from John Lewis
Art is all collected since we met {our 4th date was in Paris so there’s a bit of a theme going on!} that we have had framed by Friargate Frames of Darley Abbey who offer a bespoke service. I also collect work from Vintage playing cards, often imitated but the originals are the best.
Alpaca throw from The Conran shop, Cable knit throw from Laura Ashley
Small side tables are stool and a vintage find
Flowers from the Blossom Tree {I use Kerry for all flowers, she is fabulous}

D I N I N G R O O M
Light and airy, framed with french doors and billowing white curtains

Art includes Home Sweet Home which was a house warming present from one of my lovely friends and my initials as Jessica Hische prints.
The letterpress magnets are from my BFF, Helen who also works with me {along with my lovely super-mum and Rebecca and my extended team of printers and suppliers who help me run my studio}.
Daffodils from the Blossom Tree in a little vase that is a set of 3 from The Conran Shop.
Vintage cream Anglepoise, you can get similar in Liberty.
Everything else is from Anthropologie - butter dish, glassware, timer etc.

M A S T E R B E D R O O M
I wanted to create a really relaxing space that felt a little more feminine so painted the walls in a soft shade of truffle with soft furnishings in shades of grey and the palest pinks.

Detail:
Bed from Made.com
Side lamps from John Lewis
Bedding from Designers Guild, Harrods and Donna Karan Home { Harrods egyptian cotton bedding in mist is my all time favourite bedding}
Throws from Heals
Necklace frame that I made using an old frame, fabric and strung up using wide black ribbon
Givenchy inspired wooden box and Guerlain perfumes on the fireplace make a pretty display
Old book shelf as a shoe rack {I put my seasonal shoe edit on here and keep the rest in storage}

Mismatched bedside tables made by my brother and vintage
Drawers - were generic dark wood and painted and waxed handles from Bombay Duck with my favourite trinkets on
