Print Making Porn
If, like moi, you are you always wanting to learn more about processes when it comes to print of the non digital variety then this little gem Printmaking: A Complete Guide to Materials and Processes by Bill Fick and Beth Grabowski {total experts} may be for you...
This is what they say...
This book is a practical and comprehensive guide to seven printmaking techniques and is an absolute must for both the novice and more experienced printmaker.
Featuring chapters on Relief, Intaglio, Collograph, Lithography, Screen Printing, Monoprint, and Mixed Media, each discipline is thoroughly explored from the development of the printing matrix, the practicalities of setting up the press and inks, through to the drawing of the print. Featuring clear step-by-step illustrations and photographs, as well as interviews with today's top, contemporary artists in the field - essentially this is the printmaker's bible!
Joint authors, Beth Grabowski and Bill Fick, have created a wonderful encyclopedia of knowledge, tips, advice and inspiration that is useful, informative, and pleasing to the eye.
I whole heartedly agree.
I always judge a book by its cover.

TurnbullGrey Workshops
Good morning all!
Iv already blogged about the fabulous TurnbullGrey in all their letterpress glory..
And yesterday let out a little whoop of joy that they announced 2 evening workshops in their busy diary.
"Due to popular demand we have decided to include some evening sessions as well as our usual morning workshops. With Halloween looming and Christmas not too far away (sorry!) it's the perfect time to get card and present making! All details are on our website check it out "
Preparing for the boys arrival
Good morning!
Soooo somehow I finally managed to convince the boy {well, he offered actually, promise} to move in, yay!
No more travelling up and down the M1 to Leeds {for him} and no more having to. deal. with. everything. on. my. own. {for me}.
Never again will I take for granted having a boy around the house and never again will I take for granted how expensive electricity is {how middle aged was that comment}.
Anyway I thought I would make one of the rooms a boy-zone...
See what you think...
A hint of black, a bit of technology, a slick of vinyl, some screen print and letter press love and I think we are nearly there..
Have a wonderful week xx
A bit of late Summer sun…
My weekend started with a lovely dinner with the boy at our favourite French restaurant in Derby and then Saturday was all about being with my oldest, bestest friends having some BBQ fun in what will probably be the last of the Summer sun {although wet weather plans were made in the form of the dining room}.
Sunday was all about sleeping.
Hope you have all had a great weekend too.
Lots of love xx
Top Drawer Autumn
Happy Friday peeps!
Well I don't mind sharing that I was more than a little devastated that we couldn't make Top Drawer Autumn this week...
I hear it was great with lots of gorgeous exhibitors and lots of lovely buyers.
But, we are already planning our stand for the Spring, when we will be back!
This was the stand last year, but to go with all of the gorgeous new branding...we will have a new look for the stand too.
Very. Very excited xx
Jack Wills Sweet Stationery
Morning!
Iv kinda been over the whole Jack Wills thing for a couple of years now {afterall it is aimed at teenagers and hot twenty somethings - not 30 year old business ladieeeees} - but - I do sometimes nip in when passing, as those who know me, know that I am partial to the odd checked shirt and a pretty jacket, oh and the odd pretty dress.. and their socks are ok too, and flip flops... {OK. basically i still like old Jack as long as there is absolutely NO BRANDING AT ALL. ANYWHERE}...
Anyway, I digress, I was rewarded with a bit of stationery pretty...
You like? I did...
xx
